University of Santo Tomas Nursing Short-term Training Program.
[ Japanese|English ]
The International Exchange Committee of Tottori College of Nursing organized a short-term nursing training program at the University of Santo Tomas (hereinafter referred to as UST) in Manila, Philippines from March 9, 2025 for 6 nights and 7 days, in which 6 first to third year students of our college participated.
Our college and UST have an academic agreement and conducted this training for the first time in 2019, and the Corona Disaster continued online exchange. The program consisted of a paired observation training at the UST affiliated hospital for UST 4th year students in nursing training, participation in 2nd year Pediatric Nursing and Pharmacology lectures as class experience, a campus tour, and a tour of Manila. All UST faculty members and students were very kind and warmly welcomed.
Our students were able to experience different cultures with all their senses, flexibly adapt to the environment, and enjoy interacting with UST students. Our students broadened their perspectives with valuable experiences that they could not have in Japan, and were stimulated by engaging with students who aspire to become nurses as well, giving them an opportunity to think about their own ideal way of being.
We would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Litzmond, Chair of the International Exchange Committee at UST, and all the UST faculty members and students for their cooperation.
The International Exchange Committee will continue to provide such short-term overseas nursing training programs and opportunities for students to experience different cultures.
